Job summary

Puck, a manufacturer based in Angier, NC, is seeking a Twister Operator for the 3:00 PM–11:30 PM shift. In this hands-on role you will operate and maintain twisters and creels, handle material changes, and ensure production goals are met with accuracy and safety.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, and shows attention to detail, problem solving, and the ability to work well in a team. OSHA and company safety rules apply, and experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or 3–6 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operating and maintaining the twisters
  • Loading the twister creels with raw yarn, and tie in the new packages
  • Completing all changeovers to meet weaving demand
  • Completing material moves in ERP System
  • Reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor
  • Attaining production goals by accurately and timely completing work orders with minimum supervision
  • Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
  • Responsible for personal compliance of all OSHA and Bulldog Hose rules and regulations
  • Following the Bulldog Hose Quality Assurance Program by accurately performing the required tasks as directed by team leader
  • Accurately records time worked and allocates time to the appropriate job(s)
  • May operate a forklift as needed

What You\'ll Do

As a Twister Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining twisters and twister creels.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Operating and maintaining the twisters
  • Loading the twister creels with raw yarn, and tie in the new packages
  • Completing all changeovers to meet weaving demand
  • Completing material moves in ERP System

Required Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED diploma, or three to six months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on role in a manufacturing environment. Team members must be able to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, twist, crouch, and crawl throughout the shift
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs. and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and communicate effectively
  • Maintain close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, team members are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, oil, and grease. Team members occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and perform work from a variety of angles and body positions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Appropriate PPE is required and provided.

Travel

No travel is regularly expected for this position.
