Job summary

Glen Raven, Inc. is seeking a Twister Machine Operator to twist packages of yarn into finished yarn products. You will follow the operator training manual, perform quality checks, and maintain safety and teamwork on a 12-hour shift.

Responsibilities include starting up machines after changes, handling doubled yarn from the rack, feeding yarn into pots, removing waste, marking cones, and documenting issues. This role requires the ability to read and follow instructions and to work both

• Document any damaged machinery in the flag notebook.

Description

Operate the twister machine to twist packages of yarn according to the operator training manual and safety standards. This position adds value to Glen Raven by their commitment to achieve the highest level of production, quality and safety as well as teamwork when preparing yarn, received from the doubler, to be twisted into an end product and shipped.

• Follow company policies, safe work practices, prevent injury to yourself and other associates
• Report any unsafe work condition or any work related injury to your supervisor immediately
• Start-up machines after lot change or cleaning
• Obtain packages of doubled yarn from rack
• Place packages of doubled yarn into pots
• Repair end breaks
• Doff packages
• Remove waste from spindle supply disc
• Mark cones with assigned color
• Perform quality checks and recognize potential quality and productivity problems
• Flag any damaged machinery and document in flag notebook located at computer desk

Experience

• Should take 2 months for someone to learn and become proficient at this job

THIS IS A 12-HOUR NIGHT SHIFT POSITION 7am-7pm/ 36-48 hours per week.
