Job summary

Lakeside Behavioral Health System is seeking a Tutor to assist students and teachers in achieving educational goals within a safe, therapeutic classroom environment.

Under supervision of a Teacher, you will provide direct student behavior management, crisis intervention, and support to create a positive learning atmosphere for patients at our Memphis facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field strongly preferred.
• One year of experience working with a psychiatric patient population is preferred.
• Knowledge of effective educational strategies for age-specific growth and development is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Tutor assists students and teachers in meeting stated educational goals and provides direct student behavior management under the supervision of a Teacher. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic class room setting, crisis intervention and behavior management.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelors Degree in Education or related field highly preferred; high school diploma required.

Experience: One-year experience working with a psychiatric patient population preferred.

Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of effective educational strategies age specific growth and development; limit setting and crisis and behavior management.
