Job summary

Sandalwood Engineering & Ergonomics is hiring a Procurement Engineer to lead turnkey material‑handling and process improvement projects in manufacturing. You will manage concept through implementation, including supplier selection, procurement, installation and commissioning in collaboration with ergonomists and manufacturing teams.

The role requires steering capital projects, coordinating cross‑functional teams, and delivering safe, productive, ergonomic solutions with strong project discipline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • 5+ years managing engineering projects in manufacturing.
  • Experience leading capital equipment procurement and supplier selection.
  • Experience with external suppliers, integrators, and equipment manufacturers.
  • Strong budgeting, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • English proficiency for professional work.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of manufacturing, ergonomic, and material‑handling solutions.
  • Coordinate supplier identification, RFQs, selection, and contract support.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to design, manufacture, install and validate solutions.
  • Manage project budgets, procurement activities, and implementation schedules.
  • Lead design reviews and stakeholder meetings through the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams across multiple departments.
  • Facilitate equipment installation, runoff, and final acceptance.
  • Ensure ergonomic, safety, quality and operational requirements are met.
  • Develop project documentation, specifications, and supplier metrics.
  • Support training and change management for new equipment and processes.
  • Track status, risks, and issues; provide stakeholder updates.
  • Act as technical liaison between suppliers, clients and internal teams.
