Job summary

Sandalwood Engineering & Ergonomics is seeking a Safety Engineer to join a growing team focused on reducing work-related risk, improving quality and protecting employee health. You will design reviews, assess machinery safety and coordinate safety programs across client sites.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or CSP certification, strong communication skills, and the ability to work across multiple locations and shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, a related discipline or CSP certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; organizational skills.
• Be flexible to work outside of typical office hours to support client projects as needed.
• Ability to work independently with no or limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead up-front design reviews and ensure equipment and tooling meet safety standards.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert in Safety Engineering for product, equipment and facilities.
• Conduct risk assessments on machinery and tooling.
• Coordinate safety programs and communicate initiatives to stakeholders.
• Provide health and safety training and technical safety guidance.
