Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead turnkey projects in the structural steel fabrication sector, guiding initiatives from kickoff through closeout. You will coordinate with engineering, production, and sales to meet customer specifications, budgets, and delivery commitments, while reading blueprints and managing subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Project Management.
• At least six years of project management experience in manufacturing or construction.
• Experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication processes and oversight of fabrication work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using an ERP system.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with assigned customers as their primary point of contact.
• Plan, execute, monitor, and complete turnkey projects while coordinating with management, engineering, production, and sales teams.
• Develop and manage project schedules, track progress and address delays or other issues.
• Create and manage project budgets, monitor costs, and participate in cost reviews and reduction efforts.
• Request, evaluate, and select subcontractor quotes.
• Review bid documents with the estimating team to help ensure quotes are accurate and submitted on time.
• Prepare material takeoffs and cost estimates for new opportunities and project change orders.
• Manage changes in project scope, identify risks, and develop contingency plans.
• Work with manufacturing to ensure products meet customer specifications and delivery commitments.
• Prepare and present project updates, proposals, requirements documents, and progress reports.
• Read and interpret blueprints and contract drawings, applying knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and management to estimate costs for non-core opportunities.
