Job summary

Htprof is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead turnkey manufacturing and construction projects in Michigan. The role requires coordinating with engineering, production, and sales teams, and delivering on time and within budget.

Candidates should have a six-plus year track record in project management within structural steel fabrication or related fields. Proficiency in blueprints, ERP systems, and strong communication with customers and subcontractors is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Project Management; PMI certification preferred.
• Minimum six years of project management experience in manufacturing or construction.
• Experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/schematics.
• Hands-on fabrication processes oversight; ERP experience a plus.
• Strong communication with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams; MS Office proficiency.

Manufacturing or construction industry experience is required.

Job Duties:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers, serving as their primary point of contact throughout each project.
• Plan, execute, monitor, and complete turnkey projects while coordinating with Miller’s management, engineering, production, and sales teams.
• Develop and manage project schedules, track progress, and address potential delays or other issues.
• Create and manage project budgets, monitor costs, and participate in cost reviews and reduction efforts.
• Request, evaluate, and select subcontractor quotes.
• Review bid documents with the estimating team to help ensure quotes are accurate and submitted on time.
• Prepare material takeoffs and cost estimates for new opportunities and project change orders.
• Manage changes in project scope, identify risks, and develop contingency plans.
• Work with manufacturing to ensure products meet customer specifications and delivery commitments.
• Prepare and present project updates, proposals, requirements documents, and progress reports.
• Read and interpret blueprints and contract drawings, applying knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and management to estimate costs for non-core opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Project Management required; PMI certification preferred.
• At least six years of project management experience in manufacturing or construction, preferably with a small or midsize business in structural steel fabrication, building, or a related field.
• Experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication processes and oversight of fabrication work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using an ERP system; Global Shop Solutions experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
