Job summary

CF Industries is seeking a highly motivated Turnaround Engineering Intern to support planning, readiness, execution, and continuous improvement activities for a major plant turnaround. You will gain hands-on experience with engineering, operations, maintenance, reliability, process safety, and capital projects in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree with a focus on industrial operations.
• Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and tracking of turnaround work scopes.
• Perform field verification of work packages, equipment tags, drawings, and P&IDs.
• Participate in readiness reviews, walkdowns, and planning meetings.
• Support MOC job package reviews and readiness activities.
• Assist with contractor logistics, procurement tracking, and site preparation.
• Support development or modification of nitrogen purge and leak testing procedures.
• Assist with vent-to-flare emissions calculations and contractor training activities.
• Provide field support during outage execution and monitor assigned scopes.
• Document field changes, lessons learned, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Develop at least one turnaround report or dashboard during the internship.
