CF Industries is seeking a highly motivated Turnaround Engineering Intern to support planning, readiness, execution, and continuous improvement activities associated with a major plant turnaround (TAR). The intern will gain hands‑on experience supporting engineering, operations, maintenance, reliability, process safety, and capital project activities within a manufacturing environment.
Assist engineering and operations teams with development and tracking of turnaround work scopes. Perform field verification of work packages, equipment tags, drawings, and P&IDs. Participate in readiness reviews, walkdowns, and planning meetings. Support MOC job package reviews and readiness activities. Assist with contractor logistics, procurement tracking, and site preparation. Support development or modification of nitrogen purge and leak testing procedures. Assist with vent‑to‑flare emissions calculations and contractor training activities.
Support Exercise stop‑work authority and identify EHS concerns requiring escalation. Provide field support during outage execution and monitor assigned scopes. Conduct visual inspections of heat exchangers, vessels, heaters, and towers. Track equipment closure and pre‑commissioning documentation. Support daily turnaround KPI reporting and coordination meetings. Document field changes, lessons learned, and continuous improvement opportunities.
Support turnaround‑related capital and reliability projects. Track project schedules, scope, and status updates. Assist with equipment selection, vendor communication, installation verification, commissioning, and startup activities.
Participate in PHA, MOC, and PSSR activities. Support mechanical integrity, inspection, and reliability initiatives. Assist in safety audits, field observations, and equipment performance assessments.
