City of Midland, TX is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to join the Parks Division. The role focuses on routine turf maintenance, inspection of parks and athletic facilities, and upkeep of ball fields, pools, and park structures in Midland. You will operate equipment, assist with events, and support construction tasks as needed.
This position requires physical stamina, ability to work weekends/evenings, and a valid Texas driver’s license. CDL is preferred.
Performs all routine turf maintenance work for the parks division.
Ability to sit, stand and transport self from building. Ability to drive vehicle to and from various work-sites. Employee will work in seasonal temperatures bending, lifting and moving pieces of equipment in order to complete work or make repairs on parks equipment. Employee may be exposed to potentially hazardous chemical while maintaining parks.
Employee communicates with other employees in the work group and may respond to questions from the general public regarding services or specific projects.
Ability to read and understand work orders and equipment manuals. Skill in the operation of hand tools and equipment such as mowers, tractors, gas powered trimmers, saws and other gardening and maintenance tools.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid Texas Driver's License, CDL preferred.
