Job summary

Shaw Industries is seeking a Turf Fiber Technical Manager to lead technical and innovation initiatives within the Turf Fiber and Color processes, supporting Shaw’s Turf business unit. This role collaborates with global technical teams to advance product development, safety, and sustainability across Shaw’s flooring products.

The successful candidate will have a strong engineering or polymer chemistry background, 5+ years in turf fiber or 10+ years in plastics/extrusion, and the ability to travel

Qualifications

Four year degree in polymer chemistry or engineering required
5+ years' experience in turf/turf fiber or 10+ years in plastics/extrusion manufacturing
Ability to travel up to 50% domestically
Exceptional oral and written communication skills; strong business acumen

Responsibilities

Coordinate with internal customers to determine performance requirements and target costing for new products
Design and coordinate lab studies, pilot trials, and production trials to develop formulations and coatings
Interface with customers, manufacturing, QE, and Tech Services to ensure proper testing protocols
Collaborate with manufacturing to prioritize trials and minimize impact on production
Lead cross-functional teams on sustainable product design and IP protection
Assist in installation and startup of new equipment as needed

Education
