Job summary

Shaw Industries is seeking a Turf Fiber Technical Manager to lead technical and innovation initiatives across turf fiber and color processes, supporting Shaw’s Turf business and collaborating with global technical teams.

The role requires a four-year degree in polymer chemistry or engineering, 5+ years in turf fiber or 10+ years in plastics/extrusion, strong leadership and communication, and the ability to travel about 50% domestically.

Qualifications

• Four year degree in polymer chemistry or engineering is required.
• 5+ years' experience in turf/turf fiber OR 10+ years other plastics/extrusion manufacturing experience.
• Ability to travel (primarily domestically) - 50%
• Strong communication skills and business acumen.
• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal customers to determine performance requirements and target costing for new products.
• Design and coordinate lab studies, pilot trials, and production trials to develop formulations and coatings achieving performance and costing goals.
• Interface with customers and internal teams to ensure proper testing protocols for finished products.
• Collaborate with manufacturing groups to prioritize trials with minimal production impact.
• Lead cross-functional teams to promote sustainable product design and IP protection.
