Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Component Design Engineer for Turbomachinery - Cold End Design in Indianapolis, IN. The role focuses on developing high‑performance gas turbine turbomachinery components with robust manufacturing capability.

You will work within the global ET&S Turbomachinery organization, delivering solutions that meet stringent performance, life and efficiency targets, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering with relevant design experience.
• Master’s or JD/PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace is preferred.
• US Citizen or permanent resident required.

Responsibilities

• Create component design definitions per module, system and customer interfaces.
• Develop GD&T requirements and tolerancing for manufacturability.
• Support procurement by reviewing supplier docs and non-conforming hardware.
• Review and approve component requirements; develop and execute validation plans.
• Present design solutions to program leadership and stakeholders.
• Assist manufacturing, assembly, service and aftermarket teams as needed.
• Lead investigations of in-service or development hardware issues and report findings.
