Job summary

AEP is seeking a Turbine Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance and outage activities across turbine and balance-of-plant systems. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and cost-conscious planning for both planned outages and emergent repairs.

You will supervise a mix of union and non-union personnel, coordinate schedules, monitor contractor performance, and drive continuous improvement using RCA and Lean Six Sigma methodologies while ensuring regulatory compliance and safe operation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading maintenance in power generation or heavy industry.
• Proven ability to supervise diverse teams and coordinate outages.
• Strong knowledge of safety rules, LOTO, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Safety leadership and promoting a strong safety culture.
• Supervise union and non-union personnel on turbine maintenance.
• Oversee reliability of steam/combustion turbines and auxiliaries.
• Plan and coordinate planned outages and emergent repairs.
• Direct contractor/vendor activities and manage performance.
• Forecast labor, materials, and contractor needs; manage budgets.
• Coach, mentor, and develop staff; ensure qualifications.
• Apply RCA, Lean Six Sigma, and other methods for improvement.
