Jefferson Regional Laundry Department is seeking a Tunnel Operator to run and maintain the tunnel washing system, ensuring hygienic cleaning of hospital linens and related materials. This position supports patient care operations by providing clean, sanitized linens.

The role is safety sensitive and requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and physical stamina to handle heavy loads in a demanding environment. Prior laundry experience in healthcare is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• This is a safety sensitive position.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure quality and cleanliness of linens.
• Ability to lift and move heavy laundry loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Preferred: experience in a laundry/linen service setting, healthcare or hospitality.
• Basic mechanical skills for operating and troubleshooting laundry equipment.

What You Should Know About the Tunnel Operator

• Sunday-Saturday: Typical hours 4:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
• This position is based within Jefferson Regional Laundry and Linen Department

Job Summary

The Tunnel Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the tunnel washing system to ensure the efficient and hygienic cleaning of hospital linens, uniforms, and other washable materials. This role plays a vital part in maintaining cleanliness and infection control within the hospital by delivering clean, sanitized linens for patient care and hospital operations.

Tunnel Operator Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
