Job summary

Brett/Robinson Vacation Rentals is seeking a Laundry Tunnel Operator to manage the tunnel from load through wash, extraction and transfer to drying in a hot, humid environment. This safety sensitive role requires meticulous attention and teamwork.

You will program wash formulas, monitor gauges, adjust water levels and temperatures, direct loaders and dryer operators, maintain production records, and keep the station and surrounding area clean. This full‑time position expects 40+ hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Able to lift 40 lbs on a regular basis.
• Stand for long shifts (over 7 hours).
• Color and brightness differences must be detected and matched.
• Fine motor skills for quick, coordinated movements.

Responsibilities

• Represents Brett/Robinson with courtesy, tact and discretion in all interactions.
• Operates the tunnel control station from load through wash, extraction and transfer to drying.
• Programs and adjusts wash formulas, water levels, temperatures and chemical injection rates.
• Watches gauges and indicators to ensure proper tunnel operation.
• Coordinates article flow through the tunnel, adjusting speed and sequencing for continuous production.
• Directs loaders, sorters and dryer operators to keep production moving smoothly.
• Identifies mechanical issues and reports them promptly to Laundry Manager or maintenance.
• Maintains accurate production records including load counts and chemical usage.
• Cleans machine filters and keeps station and equipment clean.
• Shares in general laundry tasks such as sorting, loading/unloading, folding and pressing.
• Examines and sorts articles by color, fabric, dirt content and cleaning method.
• Reports safety hazards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Title: Laundry Tunnel Operator

Reports to: Laundry Dept.Manager/Asst. Manager

Note: Laundry positions are safety sensitive, requiring the utmost attention of employees to potential safety concerns. The Laundry Facility is non-air conditioned. High humidity, heat, and cold are environmental factors in this facility.

Minimum Skills And Abilities Required

• Perform physical activities that require moving one's whole body, such as bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling and squatting. Able to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis
• Able to stand in excess of 7 hours during a regular shift
• Match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness
• Make quick, coordinated and repeated movements with fingers, hands, and wrists.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Serves as a representative of Brett/Robinson, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other employees of Brett/Robinson, owners, guests, and other members of the community
• Operates the tunnel control station, directing the laundry process from initial load through wash, extraction, and transfer to drying
• Programs and adjusts wash formulas, water levels, temperatures, and chemical injection rates according to fabric type and soil level
• Watches gauges, dials, digital displays, and other indicators to ensure the tunnel system is operating properly
• Coordinates the flow of articles through the tunnel system, adjusting speed and sequencing to maintain continuous production
• Directs loaders, sorters, and dryer operators to keep production moving smoothly from station to station
• Identifies equipment malfunctions, jams, or irregularities, and promptly reports mechanical issues to the Laundry Manager or maintenance
• Maintains accurate production records, including load counts, chemical usage, and cycle times
• Cleans machine filters and lint traps, and keeps the tunnel station, floor, and surrounding equipment clean
• Shares in general laundry production tasks as needed, including sorting, loading and unloading, folding, and pressing articles
• Examines and sorts articles to be cleaned into lots, according to color, fabric, dirt content, and cleaning technique required
• Reports safety hazards
• Performs other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

• Ability to work flexible hours, 40+ hours per week, 7 days a week; according to seasonal needs
• Work environment includes exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, and cold
• Regular attendance and punctuality are expected in accordance to company policy
