This role plays an important part in ensuring guests and members receive safe, reliable, and professionally maintained equipment while supporting an efficient and organized shop environment.The Tune Shop Technician assists with ski and snowboard tuning, equipment inspection, shop organization, workflow support, and guest service. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a strong understanding of ski and snowboard equipment and maintenance procedures.## About this Role**Job Title:** Ski Tune Shop Technician **Department:** Retail & Rental **Status:** Seasonal PT **Reporting To:** Senior Retail & Rental Manager**Key Responsibilities:**Tune Shop Operations* Perform ski and snowboard tuning services including waxing, edge sharpening, base repair, and binding adjustments within company and industry standards* Inspect guest and rental equipment for safety and operational concerns* Assist with mounting, adjustment, and testing procedures as directed by leadership* Maintain organized workflows and support efficient daily shop operations* Accurately complete service documentation, tags, and work orders* Assist with rental fleet tuning, maintenance, and seasonal equipment preparationGuest Service & Equipment Support* Provide professional and knowledgeable guest interactions regarding tune services and equipment maintenance* Help guests understand recommended tune work and service timelines* Assist with equipment intake and pickup processes* Maintain a welcoming and professional shop environment* Escalate equipment concerns or guest issues to leadership when necessaryShop Organization & Inventory Support* Provide professional and knowledgeable guest interactions regarding tune services and equipment maintenance* Help guests understand recommended tune work and service timelines* Assist with equipment intake and pickup processes* Maintain a welcoming and professional shop environment* Escalate equipment concerns or guest issues to leadership when necessaryShop Organization & Inventory Support* Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces throughout the tune shop* Assist with inventory organization, receiving, storage, and supply management* Help monitor tuning supply levels and communicate operational needs to leadership* Support preseason and postseason equipment organization projectsTeam Support* Work collaboratively with rental, retail, and valet teams as operational needs require* Support department projects, operational initiatives, and high-volume periods* Participate in team trainings and safety procedures* Follow all company safety standards, operational procedures, and workflow expectations**Requirements and/or Qualifications:*** Previous ski and snowboard tuning experience preferred* Knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment and maintenance procedures preferred* Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills* Strong communication and teamwork abilities* Ability to safely operate tuning equipment and tools* Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated* Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and peak operational periods**Physical Requirements- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:*** Full range of body movements including handling, lifting, reaching, bending, and climbing* Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (50+ lbs) such as ski equipment, rental gear, and merchandise boxes* Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting during customer service, inventory management, and equipment handling* Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, especially around the shop exterior and mountain base areas* Climb/descend stairs/ladders, including accessing storage areas and shop lofts* Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis, including ski tuning machines, binding tools, and other repair equipment* Safely handle hazardous materials such as ski waxes, tuning chemicals, and cleaning supplies**Working Environment:**This role operates primarily within the ski and snowboard tune shop environment and may occasionally support rental and retail operations during high-volume periods.
