The Ski Tune Shop Technician is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the ski and snowboard tune shop by providing high-quality tuning, repair, and equipment maintenance services. This role plays an important part in ensuring guests and members receive safe, reliable, and professionally maintained equipment while supporting an efficient and organized shop environment.The Tune Shop Technician assists with ski and snowboard tuning, equipment inspection, shop organization, workflow support, and guest service. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a strong understanding of ski and snowboard equipment and maintenance procedures.Job Title: Ski Tune Shop TechnicianDepartment: Retail & RentalStatus: Seasonal PTReporting To: Senior Retail & Rental ManagerKey Responsibilities:Tune Shop OperationsPerform ski and snowboard tuning services including waxing, edge sharpening, base repair, and binding adjustments within company and industry standardsInspect guest and rental equipment for safety and operational concernsAssist with mounting, adjustment, and testing procedures as directed by leadershipMaintain organized workflows and support efficient daily shop operationsAccurately complete service documentation, tags, and work ordersAssist with rental fleet tuning, maintenance, and seasonal equipment preparationGuest Service & Equipment SupportProvide professional and knowledgeable guest interactions regarding tune services and equipment maintenanceHelp guests understand recommended tune work and service timelinesAssist with equipment intake and pickup processesMaintain a welcoming and professional shop environmentEscalate equipment concerns or guest issues to leadership when necessaryShop Organization & Inventory SupportProvide professional and knowledgeable guest interactions regarding tune services and equipment maintenanceHelp guests understand recommended tune work and service timelinesAssist with equipment intake and pickup processesMaintain a welcoming and professional shop environmentEscalate equipment concerns or guest issues to leadership when necessaryShop Organization & Inventory SupportMaintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces throughout the tune shopAssist with inventory organization, receiving, storage, and supply managementHelp monitor tuning supply levels and communicate operational needs to leadershipSupport preseason and postseason equipment organization projectsTeam SupportWork collaboratively with rental, retail, and valet teams as operational needs requireSupport department projects, operational initiatives, and high-volume periodsParticipate in team trainings and safety proceduresFollow all company safety standards, operational procedures, and workflow expectationsRequirements and/or Qualifications:Previous ski and snowboard tuning experience preferredKnowledge of ski and snowboard equipment and maintenance procedures preferredAbility to work in a fast-paced operational environmentStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesAbility to safely operate tuning equipment and toolsDependable, punctual, and self-motivatedWillingness to work weekends, holidays, and peak operational periodsPhysical Requirements- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:Full range of body movements including handling, lifting, reaching, bending, and climbingReach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (50+ lbs) such as ski equipment, rental gear, and merchandise boxesProlonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting during customer service, inventory management, and equipment handlingWalk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, especially around the shop exterior and mountain base areasClimb/descend stairs/ladders, including accessing storage areas and shop loftsManual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis, including ski tuning machines, binding tools, and other repair equipmentSafely handle hazardous materials such as ski waxes, tuning chemicals, and cleaning suppliesWorking Environment:This role operates primarily within the ski and snowboard tune shop environment and may occasionally support rental and retail operations during high-volume periods.
