Job summary

Sugar Bowl Resort is seeking Tubing Operator Attendants to ensure smooth and safe operation of the Sugar Rush Tubing Facility. This role emphasizes high-level guest service and safety, assisting with day-to-day tubing lane operations, guest flow, and equipment checks.

We are a historic California resort with a strong winter-season focus. The role offers both part-time and full-time schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, and a team-first environment with opportunities to learn

Qualifications

  • Part-time (2 days/week) or full-time (5 days/week) including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather extremes.
  • Willing to learn, cross-train, and support other departments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and explain tubing rules and safety procedures.
  • Direct guest flow and assist with opening/closing tubing facility.
  • Monitor lanes and stop operations for safety issues.
  • Assist with tubing lift operations and snow base maintenance.
  • Sell tubing and snow play tickets.
  • Cross-train and support other departments as needed.
  • Complete daily logs and incident reports as needed.

Job description

Sugar Bowl Resort is seeking Tubing Operator Attendants to help ensure the smooth and safe operation of the Sugar Rush Tubing Facility. This role provides a high level of customer service and safety to all guests, assisting with day-to-day tubing lane operations, guest sales, guest flow, and equipment checks.

Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney. This special community helped bring skiing to “sunny California” since December 1939. Since then, it continues to attract adventurous winter sports enthusiasts alike.

What You’ll do
On-Hill Operations
  • Follows all safety procedures to keep guests and teammates safe on the tubing lanes
  • Greets guests, explains tubing rules and safety procedures, and directs guest flow through the lanes
  • Assists with opening and closing procedures for the tubing facility
  • Monitors lanes during operation and stops use immediately if a safety issue arises
  • Conducts snow removal as needed
  • Completes daily logbooks and incident reports as needed
  • Assists with parking, ticket scanning, and line management as needed
Lifts and Tubes
  • Assists with daily operation of the tubing lift(s), following training and safety protocols
  • Helps maintain snow base at load and unload areas
  • Checks tubes for damage or improper inflation, and removes damaged tubes from use
  • Reports tube or equipment issues to a supervisor promptly
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assists with group activities and events as needed
  • Sell tubing and snow play tickets
  • Performs other job duties as assigned
  • Cross-train and lend a hand in other departments as needed, building a broader understanding of resort operations.
  • Take advantage of opportunities to learn new skills across the resort, supporting a well-rounded, team-first approach to the guest experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Stands, walks, and works outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions
  • Frequently lifts, carries, and moves tubes and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Shovels and clears snow from work areas as needed
  • Climbs and descends the tubing hill repeatedly throughout each shift
  • Works evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a flexible, part-time or full-time schedule
  • Sufficient visual and auditory acuity to monitor guest safety and communicate with guests and teammates
