Job summary

Technique is seeking a Tube Laser Technician for our Jackson, Michigan facility. You will manage materials flow, inventory accuracy, and perform laser tube cutting operations with setup, programming, and process improvements.

Strong measurement, blueprint reading, and MRP (E2) skills are highly valued. The role requires ability to operate forklifts and cranes, work manufacturing shifts, and maintain safety standards in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and vocational training.
• Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts in material handling.
• Licensing requirements to operate forklifts and cranes must be met.
• Ability to read blueprints; use micrometers and calipers to inspect work.
• Experience in MRP systems (E2) to track inventory preferred.
• Experience operating laser tube cutting equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspection of materials and components.
• Organize, sort, and trace materials for FIFO inventory management.
• Coordinate inventory levels with order entry and purchasing.
• Manage tubing inventory in E2 accurately.
• Communicate with sales/customers to aid in procuring materials.
• Use measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) for inspection.
• Load/unload materials with forklifts and overhead crane.
• Maintain safe, organized work area and follow process steps.
• Program, load, and verify laser tube cutting part programs.
• Set laser parameters and perform job setup for production.
• Document quality and maintain traceability for each job.
