Job summary

Technique is seeking a Tube Laser Technician to join our Jackson, Michigan facility. The role focuses on managing materials flow, maintaining inventory accuracy, and performing tube laser operation, maintenance, and programming.

A strong emphasis on blueprint reading and precision measuring is required. The position requires forklift and crane licensing, experience with E2 MRP, and the ability to coordinate with sales and procurement to ensure smooth production.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Vocational training preferred (STEM Program, Career Center, or Technical Trades Training).
• Experience with overhead crane and forklifts used in material handling.
• Must meet licensing requirements to operate forklifts and cranes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints preferred.
• Proficiency in using measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers) to inspect own work in accordance with specifications and requirements preferred.
• Experience working in an MRP system (e.g., E2) to track and manage inventory preferred.
• Experience operating laser tube cutting equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspection of materials, including tubing and customer-supplied components.
• Organize and sort materials to maintain traceability, FIFO inventory management, and related duties.
• Coordinate inventory levels with order entry and purchasing for tubing and job readiness.
• Manage tubing inventory in the E2 system accurately.
• Communicate with sales and customers to aid in procuring materials.
• Use measurement tools to inspect received materials and finished parts.
• Load and unload materials using forklifts and overhead crane.
• Perform daily and weekly maintenance on laser tube cutting equipment.
