TSM Metal Works in Crossville, TN is seeking an experienced Powder Coating Specialist to ensure high-quality finishes while upholding safety protocols. The role requires hands-on coating, curing oversight, and strict adherence to job specifications.

You will operate electrostatic powder coating equipment, manage coatings and inventory, and perform maintenance on tools. Day shift typically Monday–Friday with benefits including holidays, PTO, medical plan, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on powder coating experience.
• Deep understanding of electrostatic powder application and pre-treatment methods.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain powder coating systems including pumps, guns and fluidizers.
• Detail-oriented with high-quality aesthetic and protective finishes.
• Must lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints and safety instructions.

Responsabilités

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, sandblasting or chemical pretreatment.
• Operate and maintain electrostatic powder coating equipment (guns/booths).
• Monitor curing ovens to ensure proper polymerization and finish.
• Inspect finished parts for coverage, thickness, adhesion and cure.
• Maintain coating equipment, air compressors and ventilation systems.
• Manage powder inventory, masking supplies and pre-treatment solutions.
• Package parts to prevent damage during transit.
• Follow PPE and safety policies.

Summary

Essential Duties

• Preparation: Accurately clean, degrease, sandblast, or chemically treat metal surfaces inpreparation for coating.
• Application: Operate and maintain manual and automatic electrostatic powder coatingequipment (guns and booths) to apply coatings uniformly and efficiently.
• Curing: Load components into curing ovens and monitor temperature and time according topowder manufacturer specifications to ensure proper polymerization and finish quality.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished products for uniform coverage, appropriate mil thickness,adherence, and proper cure, ensuring compliance with job specifications.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on coating equipment, air compressors, andventilation systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Inventory: Manage and organize powder inventory, masking supplies, and chemical pre-treatment solutions.
• Packaging: Package parts, ensuring parts arrive to the customer undamaged.
• Safety: Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use ofPPE (respirators, gloves, etc.).

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Powder Coater in a professionalsetting.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrostatic powder application techniques, various powder types (e.g., epoxies, polyesters, urethanes), and pre-treatment methods.
• Equipment Proficiency: Proven ability to troubleshoot and maintain powder coating systems,including pumps, guns, and fluidizers.
• Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail for achieving high-quality aesthetic and protectivefinishes.
• Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Communication: Ability to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and safety instructions.
