Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Systems Engineer in the Herndon area to support a secure, on-prem, Kubernetes-based environment. You will apply DevOps practices, automate deployment pipelines, and ensure secure, scalable operations for the motion imagery software stack.

The role requires a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance and 10+ years of DevOps experience, plus a Engineering/related degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• 10+ years of DevOps engineering experience.
• Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or related field, OR equivalent 14 years job-related experience.
• Demonstrated experience employing DevSecOps principles, including strict configuration management and continuous delivery.
• Demonstrated experience in building, securing, and operating containers in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in a Kubernetes-based environment with understanding, administering clusters, and Helm.
• Knowledge of container and Linux host networking.
• Experience with Apache Kafka.
• Experience with Elastic stack.
• Excellent organizational, coordination, interpersonal and team building skills.
• Location: At Customer Site - Herndon area.

Responsibilities

• Provide an array of skills within DevOps discipline.
• Develop and/or scripting tasks (Bash, Python, Java, C#, etc).
• Linux OS maintenance and operations.
• Manage source code and artifact repositories (Git, Nexus/Artifactory).
• Work with automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Rundeck.
• Build/packaging with Gradle, Maven, Poetry.
• Support deployments and operations in a Kubernetes environment, including Helm-based workloads.
