Job summary

CFD Research Corporation is seeking a VDI Systems Engineer to design, deploy, maintain, and secure a multi-cloud VDI environment for high-performance, sandbox, and operational needs. This on-site Dayton role requires TS/SCI clearance and hands-on experience with VDI platforms and thin-client management tools.

You will collaborate with ISSOs, provide Tier-3 escalation support, and develop CONOPS, SOPs, and cloud-cost optimization recommendations while adhering to DISA STIGs and DoD baselines.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience administering at least one core VDI platform (AVD, AWS WorkSpaces, or VMware/Omnissa Horizon) and thin-client management tools (e.g., 10ZiG Manager).
• Active TS/SCI clearance required for role.
• CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT Level II) or equivalent.
• U.S. Citizenship required for eligibility.
• Role requires 100% on-site work in Dayton, OH area.

Responsibilities

• Administer AWS-hosted 10ZiG Manager servers and push endpoint profiles.
• Provision and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS WorkSpaces, and Horizon environments.
• Conduct performance testing and collect latency metrics for optimization.
• Apply DISA STIGs and support CTO/ATO packages.
• Author CONOPS, SOPs, and cloud-cost optimization recommendations.
• Act as Tier-3 escalation support for the Operations Office and align templates with R&D pipelines.
