CFD Research Corporation in the Dayton, OH area seeks a VDI Systems Engineer to design, deploy, maintain, and secure a multi-cloud VDI and thin-client environment for mission-critical work. This 100% on-site role requires active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 100% on-site work in Dayton, OH area.
• CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT Level II) or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with at least one core VDI platform (AVD, AWS WorkSpaces, or Omnissa Horizon).
• Experience with thin-client management tools (e.g., 10ZiG Manager).
• Security scripting: able to write automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Administer AWS-hosted 10ZiG Manager servers, push endpoint profiles, firmware updates, and convert legacy hardware into thin clients.
• Provision and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS WorkSpaces, and Omnissa Horizon environments with FSLogix profiles, instant clones, host pools.
• Conduct performance testing, collect logon/latency metrics, and iterate desktop templates based on feedback.
• Apply DISA STIGs across OS templates, AD policies, and cloud resources; support CTO/ATO packages with evidence.
• Create CONOPS, SOPs for Tier 1/2 support, write technical whitepapers, and advise on cloud costs.
• Collaborate with Operations Office and Integration Office to align templates with R&D pipelines.
