Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks an experienced Technical Writer to transform ITD technical products into clear, user-friendly documents. You will develop installation guides, user manuals, and system documentation for hardware and software projects on client sites.

The role requires BA/BS + 8 years, TS/SCI with Polygraph, and strong editing, publishing and MS Office skills. This position is on customer site with opportunities to contribute to enterprise IT initiatives.

Qualifications

• BA/BS + 8 years of related experience
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II (desirable)
• Security clearance TS/SCI with Polygraph

Responsibilities

• Create and review ITD technical products for grammar, punctuation, syntax, logic, clarity, and consistency
• Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents including software and systems/network engineering, operations, testing, and user documentation
• Write and edit technical documentation for hardware and software requirements, including installation, configuration, how-to guides, and end-user manuals
• Standardize documentation with templates for all document types
• Ensure style and format conform to agency standards and vocabulary
• Amend drafts to align with accompanying text and graphics
• Maintain document library for easy storage, retrieval, updates, and review
• Participate in special projects as required
