Job summary

J&T in Fort Meade, MD seeks an experienced System Engineer to support an enterprise mission application, perform testing and sustainment, and collaborate across DevOps, software, and operations teams. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline plus 10+ years of systems engineering/technical experience, OR 14 years of relevant systems engineering experience without a degree.
• Proven Linux administration in enterprise environments (RHEL 8/9, Rocky Linux 8/9).
• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Hands-on monitoring with Grafana and Kibana; Jira/Confluence in operations.
• Familiarity with containerized architectures (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with ticketing and service desks for user support.

Responsibilities

• Support DevOps and software teams in testing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting web components and services.
• Collaborate to formulate test plans and identify testing requirements.
• Triage operational incidents and log issues in ticketing systems.
• Monitor health, performance metrics, and telemetry dashboards (Grafana, Kibana).
• Perform installations, configurations, and upgrades across virtual and cloud environments.
• Address customer support requests via Jira Service Desk and guide end users.
