Job summary

SAIC’s Varen group in Suitland, MD is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support high-performance networking for mission-critical environments. Active TS/SCI with polygraph is required for consideration, with on-site responsibilities in Suitland.

The role focuses on engineering and O&M for Cisco-based deployments, including SolarWinds monitoring, with emphasis on documentation, troubleshooting, and rapid remediation of complex networking issues.

Qualifications

• BS or higher required; extensive experience acceptable in lieu of a degree.
• Cisco and SolarWinds experience required.
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph is required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-performance, highly available networking services to support business and mission needs.
• Engineer and operate deployments backed by Cisco and SolarWinds on multi-level IT systems.
• Provide O&M support for switches, routers, firewalls, encryption devices, and copper/fiber connections.
• Support internal escalation tiers for advanced troubleshooting and rapid remediation of networking issues.
• Maintain documentation for networking systems, subsystems, and capacity/performance plans.
