Job summary

Columbus Technologies and Services is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, onsite. You will design spacecraft structures and mechanisms, develop CAD models and drawings, and work with world-class engineers on collaborative teams.

Responsibilities include trade studies, interface drawings, and GD&T under ASME standards. Strong NX/CATIA/Creo skills and PLM tools are required to contribute to feasibility and cost evaluation.

Qualifications

• Mechanical design of spacecraft structures, mechanisms and instruments.
• Experience with CAD tools for complex models and drawings.
• Ability to create detailed engineering drawings to ASME Y14.100-2017 standard.

Responsibilities

• Design Engineer for JPL spacecraft, instrument or robotic projects.
• Create complex CAD models, assemblies and drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers in a highly team-driven environment.
• Develop and run configuration trades on mechanical systems.
• Interface with space science experts, analysts and manufacturers.
• Perform conceptual spacecraft design for feasibility and cost estimates.
