Job summary

Absolute Business Solutions Corp (ABSC) in Bethesda, MD seeks a TS/SCI-cleared DevOps Platform Engineer and Linux Systems Administrator. You will operate and secure a Kubernetes-based production platform supporting a big-data pipeline, collaborating with DoD/IC teams and government stakeholders.

The role blends platform operations, automation, and security in a mission-critical environment. Most work is onsite at the customer location in Bethesda, with potential partial remote work based on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field with four+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with two+ years.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph.
• DoD 8140 IAT Level II+ cert (Security+ CE, CySA+ or equivalent).
• Kubernetes administration experience.
• Experience with Helm or similar packaging/tools.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, monitor, patch, and maintain a production Kubernetes-based platform (Elasticsearch, Kafka, Redis, etc.).
• Administer Linux-based apps and systems, including hardening and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot pod failures, networking, image pulls, scheduling, storage, and connectivity.
• Use Helm to manage Kubernetes packages and config.
• Support shared platform services (Elastic, Redis, queues, API gateways).
• Integrate services with physical/virtual infra to ensure availability and security.
• Design scalable, redundant infra across environments.
• Develop infra automation with Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Bash, Python.
• Implement platform security, monitoring, logging, and observability practices.
• Contribute to docs, diagrams, and Agile release planning.
