Job summary

Peraton is seeking an experienced Data Science Specialist to join our team supporting an Intelligence Community customer in McLean, VA. The role focuses on applying advanced analytics to large-scale structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data to support mission operations and informed decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 12+ years of relevant experience; or Master's with 10+ years; or PhD with 7+ years.
• Experience analyzing structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets.
• Experience developing software applications using Python, Java, or C#.
• Experience with object-oriented analysis, design, and programming.
• Experience with data migration, transformation, and enterprise data integration.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and database modeling.
• Experience using data exchange technologies such as XML, JSON, XSLT, JDBC, SOAP, REST.
• Experience designing database-driven applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication; able to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze diverse datasets to identify entities, relationships, patterns, and trends.
• Develop software and analytic solutions to support enterprise data analysis.
• Design, develop, and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes.
• Support data migration and warehousing initiatives across enterprise systems.
• Create scripts and applications to automate data processing and improve analytics workflows.
• Perform data modeling, database design, and data quality analysis.
• Design and implement REST-based services and data interfaces.
• Use OO design and modern software development methods to build scalable apps.
• Collaborate with government customers and engineers to define requirements and implement solutions.
• Present technical findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support multiple concurrent technical efforts in a fast-paced mission environment.
