Job summary

JCS Solutions in Alexandria, VA seeks a Cybersecurity Operations Analyst to join a demanding SOC environment. You will monitor alerts, analyze incidents, and support threat detection and response efforts to safeguard client networks.

Requirements include active TS/SCI, a relevant degree, 10+ years in security operations, and DoD 8570 certifications. This role offers a challenging path with opportunities for growth in defense and national security projects.

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS or related field; substitutions allowed.
• 10+ years in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or related field.
• Experience in SOC environments with security monitoring and response.
• Strong understanding of threat lifecycle, IOCs, TTPs.
• Must have DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification.
• Willingness to obtain CSSP Analyst certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts from endpoints, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and other sensors across client networks.
• Perform Tier 1/2 security analysis by reviewing large log data and correlating evidence.
• Investigate and triage security events, escalating incidents with evidence to senior analysts.
• Identify malicious activity, IOCs, attack patterns, and adversary behaviors.
• Document investigations, findings, and recommendations in case management systems.
• Support incident reports and executive summaries for customers and leadership.
