Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for high-consequence defense and aerospace applications. You will work with a multidisciplinary team through the full product lifecycle.

The role requires ownership from concept through qualification, ensuring performance, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with program requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 6+ years of professional mechanical design experience.
• Must have TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance.

Job Description

A client in the defense industry is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced mechanical and electro-mechanical systems used in high-consequence defense and aerospace applications. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge hardware, including precision mechanisms and complex electromechanical assemblies, while collaborating within a multidisciplinary engineering team throughout the entire product development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced development environment, takes ownership of technical challenges, and is comfortable moving between conceptual design activities and laboratory-based hardware testing. This individual will be responsible for driving mechanical design efforts from concept through qualification, ensuring performance, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with program requirements.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 6+ years of professional experience
• TS/SCI with CI Poly
• proficiency with CAD tools; Creo
• familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards
• experience with materials testing, actuators, custom hear trains, electro-optical systems
