Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of focused experience in Trusts & Estates law.
  • Strong background in sophisticated estate and tax planning work.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft complex estate planning instruments and structures.
  • Excellent understanding of federal and state transfer tax systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to navigate sensitive client dynamics with discretion and professionalism.
  • Admission to the New Jersey and/or Pennsylvania Bar required; additional admission in New York and/or Florida is a plus.
  • An LL.M. in Taxation is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and draft advanced estate planning structures tailored to high-net-worth family and business needs, including trusts and related planning vehicles.
  • Advise clients on complex tax matters involving income, estate, gift, and generation‑skipping transfer taxes at both state and federal levels.
  • Manage probate and trust administration matters from start to finish, including preparation and review of required tax filings.
  • Coordinate directly with clients and collaborate with external advisors such as accountants, financial planners, and family office professionals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor in sensitive family and wealth planning discussions.
  • Support the development of junior attorneys and paralegals within the practice group.

A well‑established and growing Trusts & Estates practice is seeking a senior‑level attorney to take on a sophisticated and relationship‑driven role within its private client group. This is not a routine drafting position—this role is designed for an attorney who wants to move beyond standardized estate planning and engage deeply in complex wealth, tax, and family structuring matters.
