Job summary

Pitt County Schools is seeking a School Bus Driver to transport students safely and professionally under federal, state, and district policies. This role reports to the Bus Supervisor and requires maintaining discipline and safe operation.

Candidate must have NC School Bus Certification, a valid CDL with school bus 'S' restriction, and pass medical and Physical Performance Evaluations. Employment runs 180 days per school year. Will also perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintain logs.

Qualifications

• Must possess NC School Bus Certification.
• CDL with School Bus 'S' restriction required.
• Must successfully complete a medical examination and Physical Performance Evaluation.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus safely and professionally.
• Maintain order and discipline of students per district policy.
• Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report defects promptly.
• Comply with all Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, and policies.
• Maintain logs and complete required reports.
• Participate in training and workshops.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
