Devon Bank, a community-focused Chicago institution, seeks a Manager of Trust Operations to lead daily operations of the Trust and Wealth Management Department. You will supervise security trades, reconciliations, tax form production, and audits, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong leadership, deep trust operations knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with tax preparers and external partners while maintaining robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; 3+ years in Trust Operations or Wealth Advisory Administration.
• 3+ years in Trust Operations with at least 2 years in management.
• Experience with trust securities, FDIC/regulatory knowledge, banking and accounting functions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software quickly.
• Strong communication, client service orientation, and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

• Balance and reconcile GWES daily, monthly, annually.
• Supervise posting of security trades, income processing, and capital structures.
• Reconcile assets with custodians, brokers, mutual funds, DRP agents.
• Set up new accounts on GWES and oversee asset collection.
• Close accounts on GWES and oversee asset delivery.
• Produce customer statements and tax forms (1099, 5498).
• Coordinate with tax preparers to meet deadlines and distribute K-1 forms.
• Manage audits and produce audit packages.
• Produce year end IRA statements and RMD notifications.
• Oversee online trust portal interface and mobile applications.
• Train and supervise the Operations staff.
• Provide data processing and GWES support; ensure systems are current.
• Prepare management reports; address non-compliance incidents.
