Job summary

State of Montana, Department of Natural Resources & Conservation, seeks a Budget Analyst 2 to manage the trust lands budgets, forecasts, and related fiscal planning. This role partners with division leadership, staff, and external agencies to ensure accurate budgets, expenditures, and revenues in support of trust lands programs.

The position emphasizes public-sector budgeting, grant administration, and contract oversight, reporting to the Trust Lands Deputy Division Administrator.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, public administration, finance, or a related field.
• Two years of job related experience.
• Extensive skill in fiscal management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Administer short- and long-term fiscal plans for trust lands programs and grants administration.
• Oversee budget development, procurement, contracting, facilities management, and division operations.
• Serve as the primary budget advisor to the Trust Lands Deputy Division Administrator.
• Manage day-to-day financial management of trust lands programs within the Division.
