Overview
A prestigious, internationally recognized law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts and Estates Attorney to join its dynamic Private Client practice group. This role offers the opportunity to work with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and closely held business owners on sophisticated estate planning and wealth transfer matters.
Responsibilities
- Advise domestic and international clients on complex estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning.
- Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning instruments.
- Counsel fiduciaries and beneficiaries on all aspects of trust and estate administration, including probate proceedings.
- Provide guidance on charitable planning, business succession planning, and asset protection strategies.
- Collaborate with tax, corporate, and litigation colleagues on multi-disciplinary matters.
- Monitor changes in tax and estate law and advise clients accordingly.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Admission to the bar in the jurisdiction of practice (or ability to waive in).
- Minimum of three years of experience in trusts and estates law, ideally in an Am Law 100 or other large firm setting.
- LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated expertise in sophisticated estate and tax planning for high-net-worth clients.
- Exceptional drafting skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop client relationships.
