  • Move pre-cut lumber and components to the work area and position parts accurately in the truss jig.
  • Pull connector plates and follow layouts and cutting bills.
  • Work closely with the Truss Setup / Team Leader and production team.
  • Install and press connector plates at web and chord joints.
  • Coordinate material substitutions with the Production Manager when needed.
  • Inspect finished trusses to meet quality standards.
  • Move completed trusses through the finish press and prepare for next stage.
  • Keep work area organized and contribute to an efficient, team-focused environment.

Position Overview

At Yoder's Components, a Truss Builder is more than a production position - it is an opportunity to learn a skilled trade, become part of a team, and build a long-term career. You will help manufacture quality structural trusses that become part of homes and buildings throughout the communities we serve.

No truss-building experience is required. We are looking for dependable people who are willing to learn, work safely, take pride in what they build, and grow with the company.

What You Will Do
  • Move pre-cut lumber and components to the work area and position parts accurately in the truss jig.
  • Pull connector plates and follow layouts and cutting bills.
  • Work closely with the Truss Setup / Team Leader and production team.

  • Verify safety equipment is functioning properly before operating production equipment.
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions, actions, or equipment to your supervisor.

Requirements
What We Are Looking For
  • No previous truss experience required; woodworking, construction, or manufacturing experience is helpful.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and accurately read a tape measure/ruler.
  • Dependable attendance, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and taking pride in your work.
Physical & Work Environment
  • Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing for eight hours or longer with frequent bending, lifting, and movement.
  • Work is primarily performed in a production plant where temperatures can vary significantly by season.
