Carter Lumber in Massachusetts is hiring a Truss Assembler to join a team-focused, hands-on manufacturing environment. You will build roof and floor trusses by framing lumber and metal plates, using a start-up checklist and a workstation computer for design details.

You will place lumber, join plates, use a roller to finish, perform quality checks, and move to the next project. Candidates should have manufacturing experience, comfort with tools, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Experience in the use of a variety of tools.
• Ability to do repetitious work at a fast pace while standing for long periods.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• General carpentry skills are desired.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble trusses by connecting lumber with metal plates.
• Complete a startup checklist at the beginning of each shift.
• Set up a framework on the building table based on design specifications.
• Position lumber pieces and join with metal plates.
• Use a roller to flatten plates and secure lumber.
• Perform quality checks before moving to the next truss.
