Job summary

Carter Lumber in Kentucky is seeking team players to join our truss manufacturing crew. In this role you’ll follow a startup checklist, set up the building table, and assemble lumber with metal plates to form structural trusses.

You’ll work with a team in a fast-paced environment, require physical stamina to lift up to 100 pounds, and use a variety of tools as you move through each quality-controlled truss. Growth opportunities exist within the company.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience in the use of a variety of tools.
• Ability to do repetitious work at a fast pace while standing for long periods.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• General carpentry skills are desired.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Build trusses by assembling lumber with metal plates according to design.
• Start each day by completing a startup checklist for equipment readiness.
• Set up framework on the building table and shape the truss accordingly.
• Join pieces with metal plates and flatten with a roller.
• Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy before continuing to the next truss.
