Carter Lumber in Lansing, MI is seeking a hands-on team member to join our truss fabrication line. You will follow a startup checklist, assemble frameworks, position lumber, fasten plates, roll out final products, and perform quality checks throughout the process.

We value manufacturing experience, teamwork, carpentry skills, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds, with room to grow within a family-owned company that has served builders for decades.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
• Experience using a variety of tools.
• Able to perform repetitious work at a fast pace while standing.
• Strong ability to work in a team.
• General carpentry skills are desired.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Build trusses by connecting lumber with metal plates according to design.
• Complete a startup checklist to ensure equipment readiness.
• Set up framework on the building table for each truss.
• Position lumber and join plates, then roll to merge plates with lumber.
• Perform quality checks before moving to the next truss.
