Job summary

Great American Insurance Group is seeking a Trucking Claims intern to participate in special projects within the claims and subrogation groups. You will complete coverage analysis, investigate and draft letters for assigned claims, and learn how claims are reported and assigned within the division.

You'll use various claims systems and participate in seminars, while developing a solid foundation of claims and general insurance knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university with GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Pursuing degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Business or related disciplines.
• Proven leadership through internships, campus involvement, or activities.
• Strong communication, analysis, planning and organizing skills.
• Self-motivated with potential for virtual or self-directed work.
• Attention to detail with spreadsheets, databases and IT platforms.

Responsibilities

• Participate in special projects within the claims and subrogation groups.
• Complete coverage analysis, initial contact, investigation and resolution steps.
• Draft letters for claims assigned and support operations.
• Learn how claims are reported and assigned within the division.
• Utilize claims systems, programs and databases.
• Engage in seminars and workshops, including Claims College and internal programs.
