Job summary

Modern Corporation in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Truck Technician for second shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM). Under supervision from a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, you will repair diesel and non-diesel trucks and perform maintenance on chassis, refuse bodies, braking systems, engines, HVAC, and more.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and efficiency, with a pay range of $22.76–$34.37 per hour, plus benefits. CDL preferred and a valid license are recommended; prior experience with heavy-duty

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining trucks and heavy equipment, including Class 7-8 vehicles.
• Valid Driver's License, CDL preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
• Team oriented and able to work independently.
• Maintains high productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
• Air Brake Repair and Maintenance.
• Safely provides road service when necessary to ensure that the Company's equipment is returned to operation in a safe and efficient manner.
• Identifies the source of the malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools.
• Completes applicable Company training programs.
• Maintains a clean and professional work area.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Truck Technician - 2nd Shift

Mechanic Supervisor FULL TIME Manual Labor Buffalo, NY, US

Salary Range: $22.76 To $34.37 Hourly

Position Summary

With direct supervision from a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, a Mechanic performs repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks including, but not limited to, chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies and control systems, hydraulic electrical, air brake systems, general engine work, HVAC components, suspension, drive train and steering systems. The Mechanic may also perform basic tire work, such as replacement, tire rotation, and tread depth checks. This position is expected to be second shift (3:00 - 11:30 PM).

Education and Experience

• Prior experience with, or knowledge of, maintenance work to be performed on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships
• Valid Driver's License, CDL preferred

• Ability to work well as a team member and independently.
