Job summary

LV Petroleum is actively seeking an Assistant Shop Manager at our Montgomery, AL location to support the Truck Services Manager in overseeing daily Truck Shop operations.

Responsibilities include supervising technicians, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining safety and financial targets. Flexible hours and a driver’s license are required; a management degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Degree in management or related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a truck service or automotive environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of financial performance metrics, including P&L management.
• Proficient in computer systems and service tracking/inventory management software.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing overall operations of the Truck Services department, ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Supervise and train staff, promoting teamwork, accountability, and customer service excellence.
• Monitor workflow and provide support in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Ensure that all equipment is maintained properly and safety standards are followed.
• Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring services are performed timely and accurately.
• Engage with customers to address concerns and provide solutions promptly.
• Help in achieving financial goals by monitoring expenses and supporting revenue growth initiatives.
• Perform the duties of the Truck Services Manager in their absence.
