Job summary

Charger Logistics Inc. is expanding its Service Department in Indianapolis, IN, seeking a motivated foreman/lead mechanic.

You will diagnose truck components, help write repair orders, and coordinate with drivers, owners, and the Parts Department to resolve repair needs. Responsibilities include scheduling work, supervising technicians, road testing, and ensuring timely, accurate repairs with proper warranty handling.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license; CDL is preferred but not required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a shop foreman or lead mechanic.
• Knowledge of truck parts and equipment and truck repairs.
• Experience in ordering parts/parts coordination/service advisor role is an asset.
• Knowledge of DOT/MTO rules and regulations is an asset.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose all components of the truck and communicate findings to drivers and owners.
• Assist in writing repair orders and coordinate with mechanics and parts to determine solutions.
• Schedule and assign jobs to employees based on skills and knowledge to minimize downtime.
• Inspect and advise the mechanics on work progress and maintain quality standards.
• Track each customer job, estimate time to completion and anticipated costs.
• Road test and dyno test trucks to verify repairs are complete and safe.
• Keep buildings, grounds, and work areas clean and organized; maintain tools and equipment.
• Determine parts to be replaced and coordinate with Mechanics and Parts Department to ensure availability.
• Ensure repair orders are accurately coded and warranty considerations are checked.
• Report to management on workload and be prepared to work extra hours when needed.
• Ensure safe working conditions for all employees.
