Mechanics Hub in Portland, OR is seeking a Truck Service Technician to join our rental fleet maintenance team. You will service vacuum trucks and street sweepers, perform preventive maintenance, diagnose systems, and implement custom equipment modifications.

Work in a clean four-bay shop with a safety-focused team, regular training, and opportunities to use diagnostic software and tools to keep equipment running at peak performance.

Formación

• Must have strong experience in heavy truck or heavy equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems and CAN bus diagnostics.
• Ability to diagnose and repair body-side systems; not chassis or engine work.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain; valid driver’s license.

We are seeking a Truck Service Technician for our Portland, OR location to join a rental fleet maintenance team. This role involves maintaining and servicing vacuum trucks and street sweepers, performing preventive maintenance, conducting diagnostics, and completing custom equipment modifications. You'll work in a clean, organized four-bay shop environment with a team focused on quality workmanship and continuous learning.RequirementsMust-haves: Minimum 45 years of experience in heavy truck maintenance or heavy equipment maintenance Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and CAN bus diagnostics Proficiency with hand tools (up to 3/4-inch drive), multimeters, and micrometers Ability to diagnose and repair body-side systems (not chassis or engine work) Valid driver's license Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain) Pass background check, criminal record check, and drug screeningNice-to-haves: ASE Automotive certifications Prior experience with vacuum trucks, street sweepers, or rental fleet equipment Experience with Elgin or Vector systems Demonstrated diagnostic and problem-solving abilitiesCompensation & Benefits Wage Range: $33$45/hour (base) competitive rates up to low $40s depending on experience Overtime: Paid after 40 hours per week voluntary Saturday shifts available (05 hours/week typical) Medical Insurance: Employer-paid employee coverage vision and life insurance available Vacation: Accrues from start date begins at 2 weeks annually Boot Allowance: ~$200/year Uniforms: Coveralls and uniforms provided Professional Development: Access to diagnostic software and tools support for certificationsHours Schedule: 7:308:00 AM to 4:305:00 PM (flexible start/end times) Work Environment: Primary shop-based work minimal field work after initial training period Seasonal Considerations: Increased activity during fall leaf season and spring cleanup On-Call: None required#MHAPeople with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
