Tri-County International Trucks in Michigan is seeking a Service Department Manager to lead the service team, ensure profitable operations, and uphold warranty standards. You will drive technician training, customer satisfaction, and efficiency across service processes to meet objectives.

The ideal candidate will oversee staffing, cost control, vendor interactions, and safety compliance while maintaining productive relationships with customers and internal departments.

Qualifications

• Must have eight years of technical experience in medium/heavy-duty truck industry.
• Must be customer-sensitive and able to communicate professionally with customers.
• Promote continuous improvement within the department.
• Maintain a high degree of product and technical knowledge.
• Must be a team player with strong commitment to the customer.
• Must be self-motivated with good written and verbal communication.
• Must conduct oneself professionally.
• Must adapt to multiple demands and shifting priorities and be flexible.
• Must accept and lead others through change and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
• Must understand and evaluate all vendor and International warranty guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Service Department growth and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with International and vendor policies and warranty procedures.
• Review and approve outside purchases charged to the Service Department or repair orders.
• Monitor warranty statements and chargebacks.
• Review warranty debits weekly and repair orders over 30 days.
• Ensure COD repairs are on premises and staff are aligned.
• Attend International Parts and Service Managers meetings.
• Maintain high-quality service repairs to minimize comebacks.
• Assign work fairly to staff and technicians.
• Conduct periodic spot checks on job progress for timely completion.
• Keep up with warranty policies and product changes.
• Provide manufacturers’ vendor training to technicians and staff.
• Review completed repairs with comments and sign-off.
• Need to secure new service business.
