Job summary

Knife River Northwest is seeking a Truck Mechanic-Swing Shift for our Portland, Oregon area shop. You will maintain and repair class 8 trucks and mixer trucks, and support field equipment as needed. The role requires own hand tools and a clean driving record with CDL/Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.

We offer strong benefits, a Monday–Friday 2:30 PM–11:00 PM schedule with a $26.91–$44.90 hourly wage plus a $3 night differential, and opportunities for growth and safety-focused training.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience on class 8 trucks and mixer trucks. Some construction equipment repair experience preferred.
• Must have own hand tools. Company provides large and specialty tooling
• Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsement
• Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional and drug screen
• Display a professional, safe, and courteous attitude

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of trucks used for construction including dump trucks, Redi-mix trucks, lowboy's, straight trucks, trailers.
• Brakes, suspension, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC systems, body/chassis, engine, and powertrain repairs
• Shop or field environment
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and paperwork
• Ability to use diagnostic software
• Follow all safety policies and procedures
• All other duties assigned
• Hours: 2:30PM - 11:00PM Monday to Friday, hours and days flexible
• Wage Range - $26.91 - $44.90
• Plus night shift differential ($3)
