Job summary

Olympic Steel is seeking a Truck Loader to lay out loads, scale and secure them, tarp or close trucks, and optionally operate a tractor trailer. You will prepare delivery documentation and ensure compliance with regulations. The role includes loading/unloading cargo and supporting warehouse tasks as needed.

Must have a Class A CDL endorsement and 3+ years around flatbed trucks. 2nd shift 3:00pm–11:00pm, MN location with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL Driver's License Endorsement required.
• Three plus years’ experience with flatbed tractors or similar trucks.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Familiarity with on-board computer systems a plus.
• Prior steel industry knowledge is a huge plus.
• Ability to work 2nd shift, 3:00pm - 11:00pm Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Layout loads, ensure proper scaling, strap and secure loads.
• Tarps or closes trucks and may operate a tractor-trailer.
• Prepare and provide documentation for delivery or pickup.
• Load, secure, unload cargo and maintain travel/cargo logs per regulations.
• Assist with warehouse duties as needed.

Job Description

The Truck Loader is responsible for laying out loads, making sure they are scaled properly, strapping and securing the loads, and then tarping or closing up the trucks. The Truck Loader may be responsible for operating a tractor trailer or other specialized truck/vehicle that transports cargo to and from specified destinations. Prepares, receives and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick-up of goods to ensure timely service. Loads and secures and unloads cargo. Maintains logs of travel and cargo to federal and state regulations. Assist with duties within the warehouse as needed.

Pay Range: $28.00 - $32.00/hr
